Instead of attempting to put this in my own words for my own blog, let me just copy and paste what my sweet sister has written. Jen & Andrew, we love you guys and can't wait for March 29th!
From Jennifer:
John 1:16 - From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.
The last month has really been an amazing one in our lives. One that will forever stand out as we reflect on the fondest memories in life. We're expecting again! On August 17th, I had a sonogram. Andrew and I went into the sonogram hopeful to see the life that the home pregnancy test indicated was present. However, my heart had been burdened to pray not for a little life inside, but for the acceptance of whatever news I was to receive that day. I prayed for contentment with God's will...and for the mercy to be able to accept whatever that was. In my head, I thought that meant that if I were to see no life at all, that I would have the grace to accept it.
The sonogram started and instantly I saw on screen not one black sack that my eye was trained to search for...but TWO! Yes, TWO BABIES! Twins. Two heartbeats. Two little miracles God had given us. Whoa - did I need grace, but just not in the way my short-sighted brain thought I'd need. Laughter shook me so much that the sonogram blurred. Tears of joy streamed down my face. What a blessing I had just been given. Andrew, meanwhile, almost passed out!
My brain was spinning with all of the changes in my mental perspective that needed to be made. But, my overwhelming emotion was joy. In the weeks to follow, the joy remained, but I found myself praying away more fears about a twin pregnancy and caring for 3 children 2 years old and under than I ever anticipated I'd have. Through it all, I knew that God was sovereign and this is what He chose for me. I would trust Him and just convert my worries to prayer.
This past Wednesday, September 23rd, I had another sonogram. When it started, I immediately saw on screen what my eyes were searching for...life. However, this time, there was only one heartbeat. One beautiful life growing inside.
The books call it a "vanishing twin," however I just think that seems like such an injustice to the little life that was not to be. Our baby didn't "vanish." I know exactly where he is. On this side of Heaven, I will never get to meet that little soul, hold him, or rock him to sleep. However, I know that our baby is sitting at the foot of Jesus Christ praising him in Heaven...where we will get to meet him one day. He escaped the Earthly struggles and imperfections of human life, and is in our Father's arms now.
Life truly is a miracle, and I still feel overwhelmingly blessed. Seeing a 12 week old fetus bouncing around on the sonogram screen, waving its arms and legs, rolling, and even doing a back-bend of sorts. That is God's creation...a miracle that absolutely can not happen without divine intelligence and design that only the Father could create.
I've had so many friends go through the loss of a pregnancy. Recently, one friend said that she was "building her family in Heaven" with each miscarriage that she grieved. What a wonderful attitude that is...and one that first came to mind when faced with my own miscarriage.
My little one who I'll never know on this side of Heaven now joins a cousin up in Heaven, as well as many other children whose parents wish they would have had the chance to know them here on Earth. What a beautiful day it will be when we get to meet those wonderful lives we never got to know.
For now, we praise God for the little life still growing inside of me. God's plan for our family is perfect. It was not a mistake that one little life stopped growing. The things that we can not understand are ordained by Him to accomplish His purposes. Those purposes we may never know or understand, but my goal is to use what He chooses for my life to bring glory and honor to my Lord and Savior.
So, please join with me in rejoicing for the one little life that continues to grow in me. My heart's desire is that God brings this baby to term and we get to welcome it to the world late March. My official due date is April 5th, however I will most likely have a c-section around March 29th. I started on this journey with the goal of trusting in the sovereignty of the Lord, and I will continue to do that, wherever it may lead.

Rain, rain...

When you can't beat it, join it... right? :)
That's what we did! It's been raining for days, so we bundled the girls up in their rain coats and went outside. Why not? Got some cute pictures of it all, but I'll just post a collage I put together to send to the Grandparents. Avery and Julia had a blast! Collin said he wished our yard looked better for these pictures, but those are the side-effects of having him gone the past few weeks for work travels. We sure are happier when he's home!
Happy rain days! :)

Duets by the "A-Team:" Avery & Andrew
Look at that look! ...Precious how she loves her Uncle Andrew...

On our last visit to Sherman, Andrew got home from surgeries early and it didn't take long before Avery asked him if they could go play the piano! :) Being the tender-heart that he is, he went along with it. (Although I'm sure he would have rather relaxed a little from his day, rather than jumping in and entertaining a 2-year-old!... but he didn't show any hesitation and Avery LOVED it.)
The best part was when Avery was playing note-by-note with her little pointer finger, and Andrew was "accompanying her" on the lower keys. It was actually really pretty sounding! (Andrew was watching to see what notes she was going to play so that he could coordinate his part, and it sounded pretty cool! He's a smarty.) I wish we had videoed it... Adorable.

Hawaiian Falls
SORRY it's been so long since we've posted! This isn't too exciting, but it sure was a fun afternoon... Our church hosted "First Friends & Family Day" out at Hawaiian Falls a few weekends ago.
It was our first time out to Hawaiian Falls and we loved it. Here in a couple of years it will be a BLAST because the girls will be older and able to enjoy more of the park. But we had a good time with friends and family, so... Mission accomplished!

Officially Private
Well, what a pain...
I'm so sorry to have to do this, guys, but this article I saw on another friend's blog made the risk of a public blog absolutely undeniable any longer. The trouble is that apparently I'm only allowed 100 readers. Well, I honestly didn't think I had that many friends until I loaded my entire contacts list and had to start making cuts based on who I thought probably still kept up with the blog. (Boo... I don't like cutting anyone!)
Does anyone know how I can add more than 100 readers? I feel rude! ...although, I'm certain that not all of my contacts follow my blog or are even aware of the fact that I have a blog... But I just don't want to exclude anyone. (Except for the creepy Craigslist people.)

Mackenzie Grace
Just HAD to post my pictures of this little cutie...
This is the new baby girl of our friends, Ashley & Steven May. She was with us out at the lake last weekend, and the lighting was just perfect on those precious cheeks and those beautiful blue eyes so I couldn't resist snapping some pictures. (I am not turning down any opportunities to play with my new "toy," either!) Wanted to share them with my blog friends, because after all... there can never be too many pictures of cute little girls on one blog. :)

Apple Stamps
So, the heat is persistent and the girls didn't seem to want to be outside yesterday. We resorted once again to... Crafts! (My poor kids... I love crafts. I make them do crafts. That's my confession.)
As always, it's the super-simple activities that seem to be the biggest successes... and this was super simple. We did Apple Stamps, or "Apple Snaps" as Avery said. You know how the core of an apple looks like a star or a flower when you cut through the center? We used that to dip in the chocolate, caramel & strawberry syrups we had leftover from the ice cream sundae shower, and the girls stamped them on paper to make placemats for lunch. I think they did more tasting than stamping, and the placemats were WAY to messy to actually be used, but it was fun. And they really liked their apples today!

Saturday at Sandy Lake Park!
Ever been to Sandy Lake Park? We hadn't either... not until today when we took the girls and met up with a group from church. How fun! It's a little like an amusement park (from the early 70's) and a little like the Fair... and lots of fun! The girls loved it. I'll let the pictures can do the rest of the talking... I'm tired. :)
Here are ALL of the pictures... and there are plenty.

Lawdy-dawdy...
...Look who's on the potty!

Now that Big Sister is pretty well trained, it seems Julia's itching to shed the diapers too. She has used the potty several times over the course of the past few months, so our pediatrician encouraged me to go ahead and train her since she's showing initiative, so here we go! ...I guess... :/
Since she's not really talking yet (other than the typical "ball" "car" "dog" "Dada" stuff that they say at 15 mos) we're trying sign language for "potty," "all done" and "more" thinking she can tell us when she needs to go and whether she's done or not. We'll see how it goes!.. We figure it can't hurt. She's so cute to watch because she looks so small in comparison to who we usually see using the potty.

*T.M.I. WARNING for the remainder of this post*
I let her run around bare-bummed yesterday and happened to catch her on video when she was about to sit on the potty and THEN my camera card filled up just before she actually sat down. So that snippet (...it's a word...) is super short and I missed the cutest part of it all-- when she sat down and looked so proud of herself because I made a big deal about it. She sat there while I deleted some things off the card, and then I caught her finishing up... with NO help from Mom! She got that paper in her little hand all by herself and knew what to do with it. Not intended as a sales-pitch, but if you're in the market for a potty this Boon "potty bench" that Melanie gave us is great. The toilet paper compartment is built right in & easy for the kiddo to access, AND when you close the lid, it becomes a step-stool! ...Brilliant... So this is a video only a mother would love... And maybe some grandparents too. :)

Showering Megan & Baby Luke
It was a fun night for ice cream sundaes! Our friends from church, Megan and Miguel, are expecting their first baby this month. And since we never miss an opportunity to party-- we did! Shannon, Andrea, Katherine (not pictured) and I had so much fun putting this together, and it was such a fun night of girl time in anticipation of this new baby.
Congratulations, you guys! Can't wait to meet him soon...
Three Little Poages at Pops' House

We took the girls to see Collin's dad a couple of weeks ago. Most of you know that he spent several weeks in ICU before making a very unexpected and somewhat miraculous recovery. It was amazing to see him up and around... I honestly thought it would take many months of aggressive therapy to get him to this point.
The girls enjoyed getting to play with Cousin IP and with the dogs, Tojo and Twiggy. Avery got to sit in Pops' lap and hear him tell her a story and Julia got to have her first popsicle. It was a fun afternoon and Norman was definitely patient with the noise and energy generated by the kiddos. Collin was able to snap some pictures with his phone, and the others came from Melanie... Thanks, Mel!
Keep up the good healing, Pops.
